The Lake
The Club's fresh water pond provides a natural setting for a variety of activities - in all seasons. In the warmer months, members can fish, paddle a canoe, row a boat, swim out to the float, or build a sand castle on the beach. Barbecue grills and picnic tables surrounding the beach are a popular site for family picnics. Nearby is our one-of-a-kind jungle gym designed to challenge the imagination of youngsters. |
Swimming
Next to the pond is the Club's large adult pool and separate wading pool for the little ones. Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, the pools offer members a great way to cool off during the hot summer days. The spacious sundeck, with lounge chairs, offers abundant room for sun worshipers. Private and group lessons are available for younger members in swimming and diving.
Competition: For competitive young swimmers, the Club's swim team offers the kind of training schedule that's kept us at the top of our division in interclub competition. |
Tennis

Seven Har-Tru courts and an all-weather court
assure ample play time for all members. The season begins in the
Spring, with the fun-filled, social "windmill" tournament,
and officially ends on Labor Day weekend, with the Club Championship
tournament (men's and women's singles, men's and
women's doubles, and mixed doubles). The courts remain open
for play into the fall.
In Season: Certain courts are designated for open play on
specific days for various member categories: i.e., Tuesday night:
Men; Wednesday morning: Women; Friday evening: Mixed; Saturday and
Sunday mornings (except during a tournament): full-time working
adult members.
Open play courts may not be reserved during the designated
hours. Qualifying members simply show up and play round robin doubles.
This popular activity not only assures ample play time, it also
provides excellent opportunities to meet fellow members, sharpen
skills, and find compatible partners or opponents.
The Club's tennis pro is available for individual or
semiprivate lessons, or clinics for kids and adults.
The Pro Shop carries the latest rackets, fashions and accessories
for the whole family.
Competition: Throughout the season, there are usually six
tournaments planned plus interclub competition leading to Club Championships
in a variety categories. The active tennis ladders assure ample
challenge for all levels of play, from beginners to advanced.

Paddle Tennis
Nestled in the foothill of the Devil's Den Nature Preserve are the Club's three lighted platform tennis courts. The season begins in October and continues into Spring.
Open play is regularly scheduled throughout the season.
Clinics are available for both adults and children who wish to learn or improve their game.
During the paddle season, the tennis pro shop, which overlooks the paddle courts, becomes a cozy gathering place and warm-up hut.
Competition: The Club's challenging paddle competitions include ladder play, tournaments and interclub matches, climaxed by the Club Championship at the end of the season. |
Trap Shooting
On Sunday afternoons from October through April, avid shooters gather on the grassy knoll next to the Ark to test their skill at bringing down clay "birds". For those who would like to learn, seasoned trap shooters are always happy to lend a helping hand. Club-owned shotguns are available for members who would like to try their aim (supervised, of course).
Competition: There are several Trap Shoot competitions during the season. The highlight of the Trap Shoot competition is the Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot where members get a chance to win a turkey. |
